This Privacy Policy explains how StarryNight Bot, operated by Pliexe ("StarryNight", "we", or "us"), processes information when you use the StarryNight Discord application, website, and dashboard. Contact us at [email protected] about this policy or your data.

Information we process

• Discord account data: Discord user ID, username or display tag, and avatar reference.
• Discord authorization data: encrypted OAuth access and refresh tokens for the identify and guilds scopes when you sign in to the dashboard.
• Server data: server, channel and role IDs; administrator-selected configuration; permission rules; and dashboard audit entries.
• Member feature data: levels, XP, virtual currency, inventory, jobs, cooldowns, and limited moderation records such as mute or ban duration and reason.
• Global user data: preferences and other records saved to your Discord account across servers. Future global account features may add data to this same user record and are subject to the same deletion and retention rules.
• Support and operational data: commands used, error details, message IDs associated with errors, and information you submit in a bug report.
• Website data: a login session cookie and network information necessarily processed by our server or hosting provider, such as an IP address for security and rate limiting.

Message content

StarryNight does not request Discord's privileged Message Content intent. Discord may still provide content for direct messages and messages that mention the bot. We process that content transiently to respond to a requested legacy command and do not intentionally store raw message content. Bug reports are sent to a private support channel selected by the operator.

Why we use information

• To perform commands and provide the features requested by users and server administrators.
• To save user preferences, server configuration, progress, and moderation state.
• To authenticate dashboard users and confirm that they may administer a server.
• To prevent abuse, apply cooldowns, diagnose errors, secure the service, and respond to support requests.
• To comply with applicable law, Discord requirements, and valid legal requests.

Depending on the context, our legal grounds are performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing StarryNight, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

How information is shared

We do not sell personal data. We disclose it only as needed:

• To Discord, because StarryNight operates through Discord's platform and APIs.
• To service providers that process information on our behalf. As of the date above, DigitalOcean hosts the application infrastructure in the Netherlands, and MongoDB Atlas provides managed database hosting. These providers may use authorized subprocessors under their applicable data-processing terms.
• When required by law, to protect users or the service, or with your direction or consent.

Retention

• Global account data and encrypted OAuth credentials are deleted after 365 days without account activity.
• Guild-member feature data is deleted after 90 days without relevant activity. If member-leave events become available in the future, this data may also be deleted sooner when the member leaves a server.
• Server configuration and server-scoped records are deleted when StarryNight is removed from that server.
• Dashboard audit and command-usage logs expire after 90 days; command error logs expire after 30 days.
• Dashboard sessions expire after 7 days. Cooldowns, temporary bans, and mutes are removed when they expire or are cleared.
• Some information may be retained longer only when required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy where applicable. You may delete your data using the /delete-my-data Discord command, while signed in through the website's data-deletion function, or by emailing [email protected]. We may ask you to verify control of the relevant Discord account. Removal from one server does not delete global account or dashboard data; those are removed through the global deletion process or the inactivity limit above.

You may also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority responsible in your location.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable safeguards including access controls, encrypted OAuth credentials, limited retention, and secure session cookies. No system can guarantee absolute security. The providers identified above may process information in the Netherlands and other countries. Where required, we rely on their contractual and other applicable transfer safeguards.

We may change hosting or database providers and regions as the service develops. We will keep this policy accurate and update it when a material change affects how or where personal data is processed.

Children

StarryNight is not directed to children below the minimum age required to use Discord in their country. Do not use StarryNight if you are not permitted to use Discord.

Changes

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
